Set it up

Four steps. You only do this once.

  1. Download and install

Tap the button below, then open the file when the download finishes. If Android asks, let your browser install apps.

    Download APK

Play Protect may show a warning because Blurify doesn’t come from the Play Store. If it does, tap More details, then Install anyway. If it only shows OK and blocks the install: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Play Protect, then the gear icon, and turn off Scan apps with Play Protect. Install Blurify, then turn it back on.

  2. Turn on the permissions

Open Blurify and tap each row until it shows a green check. The main switch is required. The others power the extra buttons.

Android says “Restricted setting”?Android blocks some switches for apps installed from a file. Open Settings, then Apps, then Blurify. Tap ⋮ in the top corner, choose Allow restricted settings, then go back to Blurify and try again.

  3. Press a volume button

The glass bar slides in from the edge. Tap the dots at the top to open every slider.

  4. Add the extras

Optional. In Blurify, tap the gear icon to turn on the control center or the glass home dock.

What each permission is for

Blurify asks for these in the app. You can turn any of them off later in your phone’s settings.

  • Main switch

Required. This is Blurify’s accessibility switch. It lets the app notice volume button presses and show the bar on top of other apps.

  • Notifications

Shows your notifications in the panel and on the lock screen.

  • Brightness and rotation

Lets the sliders and toggles change your screen brightness and rotation.

  • Do Not Disturb

Lets the moon button turn Do Not Disturb on and off.

  • Keep running

Stops your phone from putting Blurify to sleep, so the bar shows up every time.

FAQ

Do I need root?

No. Blurify works with the permissions you turn on in the app.

Which phones does it work on?

It was made and tested on a Samsung Galaxy with One UI. Other Android phones may work too. If you try it on yours, tell me how it went on TikTok.

The bar doesn’t show up. What now?

Open Blurify and check that every row has a green check, especially Keep running. Some phones close background apps to save battery, which stops the bar from appearing.

How do I get my normal panels back?

Open Blurify’s settings and turn off Control center. To stop Blurify completely, turn off the main switch or uninstall it like any other app.
